At Éternité Medical Aesthetics & Longevity Centers we believe that your body is always owed periodic love and care to stay healthy, deal with daily challenges, lower stress, increase mental and emotional well-being, and rejuvenate.
The soothing touch and nurturing presence of the therapist can create a sense of safety and relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety. That is why we offer a wide variety of massage modalities.
One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing. Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenaline, cortisol, and norepinephrine, are also reduced.
Acupressure: Stimulates a point in a specific meridian on one part of the body that can trigger a healing response in another part of the body.
Body Stretch: Works by lengthening your muscles, which allows you to move more easily. It also increases the range of motion in joints that are often locked or stiffened up.
Cupping: An ancient healing method that may ease back pain, neck pain, headaches and other issues. It uses suction to pull on your skin and increase blood flow to the affected area.
Deep Tissue: Helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. But it can still help to you unwind mentally, too. A 2014 study involving 59 participants found that deep tissue massage helped to reduce pain in people with chronic low back.
Lymphatic Drainage: A form of gentle massage that encourages the drainage of lymph nodes and the movement of lymph fluids around the body. It will encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart.
Medical Massage: An outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem the patient presents with a diagnosis and are administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment.
Myofascial Release: A technique for easing the pain associated with muscle dysfunction or tightness. It involves applying pressure to and stretching the muscles that are painful and often restricting movements. The muscles will feel stiff, rather than elastic like a healthy muscle.
Prenatal: Predominantly uses the Swedish massage technique, which focuses on long, sweeping strokes with only minimal pressure applied to the body. Deep tissue pressure, which is common in other therapeutic massages, won't be used as it could potentially be harmful to mother or baby.
Reflexology: A type of therapy that uses gentle pressure on specific points along your feet (and possibly on your hands or ears as well) to help you feel better. The theory is that this eases stress, and that helps your body work better. It's also known as Zone Therapy.
Reiki: An energy healing technique in which a Reiki master (who has undergone formal training in this healing art) uses gentle hand movements with the intention to guide the flow of healthy energy (what's known in Reiki as life force energy) through the client's body to reduce stress and promote healing.
Sports: A type of massage designed to help athletes before, during, and after training. Sports massage can help you to: increase flexibility. prevent injuries. improve performance.
Swedish: Gentler than Deep Tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief. Swedish massage may loosen up tight muscles caused by daily activities such as sitting at the computer or exercising.
Trigger Point: A type of massage designed to trigger point pain in specific areas of the body. These points, also called knots, are usually located in muscle tissue and can cause pain when they become irritated or inflamed.
